A big thank you to the Tahoe Douglas chapter of Rotary International for hosting us yesterday at Bally's Lake Tahoe to share an in depth look at theTahoe Lead Removal Project.
In the wake of the big news from AT&T and the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance earlier in the week, it was a great day to celebrate the tangible progress being made to finally remove 6+ miles of inactive lead cables from Lake Tahoe!
These community events have become a crucial part of our project, and sensational opportunity to root our efforts in face-to-face conversations with local homeowners, residents, and frequent visitors to the lake. The questions we receive test our strategy and hone our approach. Some of the best discussions occur after the talks when we get to dig even deeper on the aspects that resonate with people personally. Its also fun to share the “wins” like the one this week!
And while that celebrating is happening - it inspiring to see that people aren’t getting complacent. Many are focused on ensuring this work is seen through to completion especially given the twists and turns to this point. Hearing this feedback in person has an impact, and guides our next steps on behalf of stakeholders. Its increasingly apparent that our efforts will continue to have an important place on the road ahead
One of the best parts of this project is the opportunity to work on it with great people. A huge thank you to organizers Kate Kawant and Zach Steeb not only for the great presentations yesterday but for fueling our efforts forward. The best is yet to come.
